Software AG Announces New Asia Pacific Head

Software AG today announced the appointment of David Powell as President, Asia Pacific and Japan. In this role, Powell will be responsible for all sales and customer relationships of Software AG in the region, and will be based in Sydney Australia.

Software AG (Frankfurt TecDAX: SOW) has announced that Group revenues in fiscal year 2010 hit a record high of €1.12 billion, exceeding the target set in 2007 and a year earlier than originally planned. The reported revenue increase of 32% (26% at constant currency) also benefitted from the weakness of the euro.

Software AG and the Kneipp Group have reached the next milestone in their long-term collaboration on a strategic project for implementing process-driven IT transformation. The Product Launch segment of Kneipp's main business processes that was modelled using ARIS has been migrated into webMethods Suite, Software AG's product line for business process management, and is now automated. ARIS is a modeling software for business processes from IDS Scheer AG, and Software AG has been working on integrating ARIS and webMethods since acquiring that company last year. Thus the project with the Kneipp Group represents an important milestone in the integration of both product lines.

Software AG (Frankfurt TecDAX: SOW) reported that it surpassed its €1 billion revenue target in fiscal 2010, one year ahead of plan. Based on preliminary figures, the company expects an approximate 30% increase in total revenue compared to 2009. Software AG expects a net income increase of ca. 19-20%, at the upper end of the higher October, 2009 full year prognosis. Full 2010 figures will be released on January 27th, 2011.

Software AG has announced that it has been named a Leader in the November 2010 report by Forrester Research, Inc., The Forrester Waveâ„¢: Comprehensive Integration Solutions, Q4 2010, and is ranked the highest in the Current Offering category among 14 other Comprehensive Integration Solution (CIS) vendors against 137 criteria. In addition, Software AG receives a 5 out of 5 score for business-to-business (B2B) support and product strategy. Software AG's webMethods v8 and ARIS product suite v7.1 were evaluated.

Enterprise Architecture (EA) tools help companies ensure that IT design and development follows a path that enables the achievement of essential business goals. With the integration of ARIS into its product portfolio, Software AG delivers a feature-rich tool set well known for its longstanding leadership in EA and Business Process Analysis (BPA).

Software AG today announced that it has been named by Gartner, Inc., a leading industry analyst firm, in the Leaders Quadrant of the recently released Magic Quadrant for Business Process Management Suites. According to Gartner, Inc., more organisations are adopting Business Process Management (BPM) as a discipline and scaling up their efforts to establish BPM as an enterprise program. The effectiveness of BPM in providing business efficiency was demonstrated by a 15% market growth in BPMS in 2009.

Software AG introduced a new version of ARIS MashZone today. ARIS MashZone 2.0 supports users in different departments with creating their own management dashboards for evaluating a wide variety of data. This data can come from different sources and be combined and visualised within just a few minutes. This gives companies a better overview of the interconnections between existing data, and allows them greater freedom in preparing key indicators and figures.

Software AG today announced that it has been named a Leader in the August 2010 report by Forrester Research, Inc., The Forrester Waveâ„¢: Business Process Management Suites, Q3 2010, receiving some of its top scores in services as well as process modelling and collaborative design. Forrester Research, Inc. stated: 'The IDS Scheer acquisition gives Software AG one of the deepest benches for process skills and capabilities in the market.'

Europe's largest software cluster held its third annual forum in Darmstadt, near Frankfurt on August 25th. The Software Cluster Forum brought together over 400 delegates, including Europe's largest software companies such as SAP AG and Software AG, leading representatives from the Federal and Hessen State Governments as well as speakers from education and science. Central to the agenda was 'software innovation for the digital enterprise': how today's enterprise software must deliver sustainable economic development, increasing productivity and growth, while minimising resource consumption. The forum also focused on other resource issues affecting both the German and European software industries. These include improving access to venture capital for startups, guaranteeing the availability of highly qualified software engineers in the immediate future and how small to medium software companies can use the cluster to accelerate their growth.

Software AG today announced that the ARIS Community has passed the 50,000 membership mark within a year of its launch. The world's largest Business Process Management (BPM) Community enables individuals, businesses and universities to analyse, visualise and share business information. Capturing and collaborating on an organisation's intellectual capital is increasingly seen as a source of competitive advantage and a fundamental step in creating the knowledge-based organisation and economy. The ARIS Community enables collaboration and learning between process beginners and experts, provides a comprehensive information exchange platform and free modelling software allowing immediate process design and analysis.

Software AG, the global leader in Business Process Excellence, has announced the promotion of Mark Edwards to Chief Executive Officer Americas, Asia Pacific and Japan. In this role, Edwards will be responsible for all sales and customer relationships of Software AG and IDS Scheer in these regions. Software AG has annual revenue of more than one billion US dollars and about 6,000 employees in 70 countries. It is expected that Software AG exceeds the € 1 Billion revenue line this year. Edwards will be responsible for about 40 percent of the company's total revenue.

In record time, Software AG, Sopera GmbH, and DHL's Global Forwarding, Freight division reached the first milestone in their long-term collaboration on a strategic global integration project. Launched at the start of the year, the project aims to establish a global IT integration platform for DHL's Global Forwarding, Freight division.

A new consulting offering from IDS Scheer AG, a Software AG company, allows businesses a quick transition into agile supply chain management (SCM). This enables them to react rapidly to changes in the market and increase their liquidity without endangering production or delivery capabilities. The solution is based on a four-step method that determines the best alignment of disposition parameters. Customers receive proposals for improving their supply chain within three weeks.

The supervisory board of Software AG has extended the contract of CEO, Karl-Heinz Streibich, until March 31st, 2015. This stability in the management team will allow Software AG to continue its expansion program initiated by Mr. Streibich, appointed as CEO in October 2003.

Software AG today announced that Business Process Excellence will help companies to return to economic growth. Based on a survey commissioned by Software AG in the UK, which quizzed over 100 IT directors, the company revealed that businesses are being hampered by poor quality processes that waste time and money. According to 75 per cent of IT decision makers, maintaining these sub-standard processes results in too much administration. The findings suggest that businesses need to change in order to fight the recession and pull out of the economic slump. Over 82 per cent of survey respondents changed their business processes within the last year in order to cut costs and switch to a flexible infrastructure.

ARIS MashZone's innovative mashup technologies are revolutionising the creation of business dashboards. Non-expert users can now combine, analyse, and visualise data in the form of attractive, interactive mashups without the need for programming skills. The mashups can be immediately adapted to new requirements and shared and developed collaboratively within the enterprise using Web 2.0 technologies. The burden on the IT department is reduced, while a new level of transparency leads to faster, better decisions.
